Six Sigma Projects
Below are two examples of my prior work in continuous improvement, as well as cost analysis and savings. The end result of both projects was a dramatic decrease in defects, which translated to better profit margins, less non-value-added tasks, as well as increased consumer satisfaction and confidence in the product. These examples were generated by me due to the sites largely accepting these defects "as-is". I wanted to demonstrate that at any given moment, there are always $ millions in continuous improvements that can be generated if the organizations focus on Continuous Improvement as a basic tenant of doing business.
Teaching Methods & Training
Below is an example of a typical module that I have written to ensure that all personnel are equipped with the same knowledge in order to facilitate deeper training going forward. A training module like the example below would also be paired with a hands-on lab to create better familiarity with the parts and components. In my many start-up experiences, I have learned to provide a thorough base of knowledge in which I could build upon. This is beneficial as I know with some degree of certainty what my team knows and what organizational learning opportunities I should consider for the team in the future.
Safety Standards & Practices
Here are some examples of safety standards and practices that I have implemented over the years. I am a firm believer in a culture where everyone takes responsibility for safety as their primary responsibility. I develop systems that encourage peer safety standards and practices while being functional and addressing regulatory requirements. This approach assists in forming a culture of team empowerment and ownership
Excellence In Quality
Many organizations struggle with quality as the quality department is often segregated, not just in function, but in responsibilities. Creating a cultural mindset that sets the expectation that quality is everybody's expectation can drive amazing world-class results. From operators using fundamental quality knowledge, to managers initiating and following up on Non-conforming Material reports (NCM), I have had the pleasure in helping develop programs that promote strong quality knowledge and a stake in ensuring the end user of the product is satisfied and maintains confidence in the products that the team makes. Below are some examples of programs that I have implemented with the teams while helping the quality department gear up for more autonomous functionality with initiating reports and investigations as needed. Lastly, I posted an example of a Quality Assurance Capability auditing guide that I used to drive a quality focus team, as well as a change control methodology for the site.
Productivity and Organizational Culture
I have been exposed to many different programs and methodologies, some are very well thought out, and some are not. Over the years, I have taken the effective elements from programs like the Toyota Production System and High Performance Work Systems to assemble tools and practices that the average person can understand and implement. My experience is that programs like those I have mentioned, exponentially increase the team's capabilities in ways that most people cannot predict. From hiring someone that has only worked fast food and teaching them to become a subject matter expert on prototype equipment, to improving the Preventative maintenance program, there are some system examples that I have created or modified to fit the needs of the team.
